History of Water Supply and Sewerage Kamëz sh.a. (UKK)

Water Supply and Sewerage Kamëz sh.a. (UKK) is a joint-stock company with 100% public ownership, fully owned by the Municipality of Kamëz.

Founding

In implementation of the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 63, dated 27.01.2016, the division of shares of Kamëz Municipality was carried out.

The company was officially founded on November 13, 2017 and registered with the National Business Center on that date.

Trade Name Changes

  • On 01.10.2019, by decision of the sole shareholder, the name was changed to "Water Supply and Sewerage Kamëz (UKK sh.a.)".
  • On 30.12.2021, by decision of the sole shareholder, the trade name was changed to its current form "Water Supply and Sewerage Kamëz sh.a. (UKK)".

Licensing by ERRU

On February 28, 2022, the National Regulatory Commission of ERRU approved by Decision No. 102 the first-time licensing of the company, in the categories:

  • Category A – Collection and distribution of water for public consumption;
  • Category C – Removal of wastewater.

The license is valid for 4 years and covers the entire territory of the Municipality of Kamëz, where the company provides services for 99,882 residents.

Main developments after founding

On 09.06.2022, the basic capital was increased from 289,024,000 ALL to 1,928,337,500 ALL.

The company operates as an independent operator, applying national and European standards.

Mission

Water Supply and Sewerage Kamëz sh.a. has as its main mission the provision of public service for a sustainable, safe, and uninterrupted drinking water supply.
